MISSION STATEMENT

Serving our Patients through innovative and comprehensive Orthopedic care.

About The Orthopedic Clinic Association

In 1949, Dr. William Bishop and Dr. Alvin Swenson were orthopedic surgeons returning from service in World War II. Their mission was to provide the very best orthopedic care to the growing Phoenix community. That year they founded The Orthopedic Clinic, the first medical practice specializing in orthopedic surgery in Arizona. Today, The Orthopedic Clinic has grown to 17 physicians with five locations across the valley.

Our general orthopedists and sub-specialists in sports medicine, joint replacement, foot and ankle surgery, hand and wrist surgery, spine surgery and interventional spine medicine have established a reputation for managing routine and complex orthopedic problems. In addition to common orthopedic procedures such as arthoscopy, joint replacment and fracture care, our physicians are experienced in total ankle reconstruction and replacement, ligament reconstruction and cartilage restoration for knee injuries, upper extremity reconstructive surgery, surgery for complex disorders of the spine, total joint revision surgery and minimally invasive and percutaneous spinal procedures. The Orthopedic Clinic physicians participate in research and are invited speakers in their sub-specialties throughout the country. We have served as team physicians and consultants for many athletes through professional sports organizations, universities, colleges, and high schools. Since the early 1960's, our physicians have served as the orthopedic surgeons for Arizona State University (ASU). We are currently also the team physicians for the Phoenix Suns, the Arizona Rattlers and the Phoenix Mercury.

While The Orthopedic Clinic Association has become a truly modern orthopedic practice, we remain devoted to the goals set forth by our founders - to provide the best orthopedic care in the Valley of the Sun. Our physicians and staff are dedicated to providing for each person's needs and ensuring the highest level of care for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. We look forward to serving you.
