Dr. Whisler is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in general orthopedic medicine. He has been practicing since 1974. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry/Zoology from Ohio University .
Dr. Whisler performed his internship at Malcolm Grow United States Air Force Hospital at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland . Following his internship, he served a tour of duty as a General Medical Officer for the United States Air Force. He did his residency training in orthopedic surgery with the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation of Louisiana. From 1975 to 1978 he was a clinical instructor at the VA Hospital in Phoenix .
