Steen Johnsen, M.D.

Dr. Johnsen joined The Orthopedic Clinic Association in 2006 after practicing in Boulder County, Colorado for 7 years.  During that time he treated professional, Olympic, and collegiate running athletes.

A native of the Phoenix area, he graduated from Chaparral High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Physiology and Anatomy from the University of California at Berkeley.  He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  He completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.  Dr. Johnsen completed fellowships in both Foot and Ankle Surgery and in Sports Medicine at the Institute for Bone and Joint Disorders.

 

Dr. Johnsen remains actively involved in clinical and basic science research and is a published author in orthopedics.  He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society.  He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Johnsen’s main interest is in the simple and complex foot and ankle problems.  He has a strong interest in sports medicine and ankle cartilage replacement techniques.
