Dr. Vella is an expert in all aspects of hand, wrist and elbow conditions and has distinguished himself in the areas of carpal tunnel syndrome, treatment of tendonitis, fracture care, traumatic reconstruction, arthritis and tendon transfers.  He has served as consultant for professional athletes including NFL, WPGA, Phoenix Roadrunners and collegiate athletes of all types.  He is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery.    

Dr. Vella completed his fellowship in hand surgery at the renowned Indiana Hand Center and brings the newest innovations in hand surgery to the Phoenix area. Dr. Vella has presented topics at national hand society meetings and has published articles in the leading hand journal. He has participated in clinical research topics including carpal tunnel, ganglion cysts and wrist fractures.  He served as a clinical investigator for national research regarding Xiaflex (collagenase) treatment of Dupuytren’s contracture.  He annually attends national conferences to incorporate the latest innovations into his practice.
